You've probably heard the saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" countless times. As cliché as it may sound, there's some truth to the statement. As the name implies, breakfast is a "break" to the overnight "fast," replenishing the glucose your body needs to stay awake and alert. Eating breakfast kick-starts your metabolism for the day and boosts your energy levels. At LĒVO, one of our favorite breakfast meals is overnight oats with hemp-infused milk.
Making Infused Milk for Overnight Oats Using the LĒVO
In this recipe, infused milk is the vehicle for adding hemp flower to your overnight oats. Making your own hemp infusions allows you to control the ingredients in your products. If you've ever made your own infusions, you understand that manually activating and infusing hemp flower can be tedious and messy.
Many people don't have time to make their own hemp infusions so they purchase pre-made products in stores and botanical shops. These products can be expensive and may contain unhealthy ingredients and artificial additives. Fortunately, there's another option for creating potent hemp infusions at home without the time and labor required to decarb and infuse your herbs by hand.
The LĒVO family of infusion machines streamline the process of making infused milk and other hemp flower infusions by drying, activating, and infusing hemp for you. At the same time, you can focus on collecting the necessary ingredients to make overnight oats or another recipe. LĒVO home infusion machines come in three distinct models.
The LĒVO II is designed for personal use and looks great on any kitchen counter, though it's also compact enough to store in a cupboard. If you're feeling fancy, the LĒVO Lux stands out in culinary settings and has a glistening metal finish, plus touchscreen controls. The LĒVO C without the dry function, has the largest capacity of all our LĒVO products and is commonly used by business owners due to its ability to produce significantly larger batches.
Visit our website learn how to use the LĒVO oil infusion machines to infuse milk with hemp flower or other herbs (such as lavender). By using a LĒVO, you are guaranteed to get a consistent infusion every time while saving yourself a significant amount of time and work.
Overnight Oats with Infused Milk Recipe
Once you've infused your preferred choice of milk with hemp using the LĒVO, you can use the infusion to make delectable adult overnight oats. If you are vegan, lactose-intolerant, or dislike dairy milk, you can also use any other type of non-dairy milk, including cashew, oat, almond, coconut, and soy milk. Pour oats, chia seeds, infused milk, and yogurt into a mixing bowl, along with a pinch of salt. If you plan to use honey or another sweetener in your concoction, add that as well. Mix all ingredients until well combined.
If you prefer a thinner consistency, feel free to add a little extra milk (note that this will increase the amount of hemp flower in your overnight oats). Pour the mixture into an airtight container for storage (we prefer to use Mason jars). Add nuts, dried or fresh fruit, and other toppings if desired.
Cover the airtight container with a lid and place it in the refrigerator to chill overnight
Recipe Note
Infused honey - Instead of infusing milk with hemp flower for this recipe, you could infuse honey. Check out our LĒVO calculator to determine the appropriate time and temperature settings for infusing flower and honey.
Oats - Avoid using instant oats, as they will get too mushy when left sitting in liquid overnight.
Milk - We recommend using high-fat milk when making hemp-infused milk. If you plan to use dairy milk, we suggest infusing whole milk. If using non-dairy milk, coconut milk and macadamia nut milk each have some of the highest fat content of all non-dairy milks.
Chia seeds - Chia seeds give overnight oats a wonderful silky texture and are a good source of calcium, fiber, omega-3s, and other minerals. They also provide amino acids and are considered a complete protein. However, they are not essential to the recipe if you are averse to chia.
Toppings - There are endless toppings that work well with overnight oats, from fresh fruit (including kiwi, bananas, peaches, plums, apples, and pears), nuts, chocolate chips, seeds, and cinnamon. The possibilities are endless.
Dosage - We recommend starting with the 2 Tbsp dose of hemp flower mentioned in our LĒVO infused milk recipe. If you're a beginner and haven't frequently enjoyed hemp products, it is highly advisable to start with a low dose of flower and gradually increase that dose until you obtain your desired effect. Edibles tend to produce effects that last for hours, so you want to avoid accidentally consuming a dose you aren't prepared for. You may not feel the effects of the hemp flower for an hour or two, so don't assume it isn't working just because you don't get results immediately. Conversely, if you have significant experience with hemp edibles and have a certain tolerance, you might want to double up your dose for added potency. You could insert two Power Pods into your LĒVO device (each containing 8 grams of hemp flower) for a more potent infusion.
Storage - Store overnight oats in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They should be good for up to five days.
