Gummies are a favorite treat among children, but who says adults can't enjoy them too? You can enjoy these honey-based gummy edibles with hemp flower in various flavors, and due to their small size, it's relatively easy to control dosage. These adult gummies are a tasty, healthy treat that will keep you coming back for more! And unlike many store-bought gummies, these are sweetened with raw, unprocessed honey -- no high fructose corn syrup involved.
How a LĒVO Home Infusion Machine Can Help You Make Honey Candy Gummies
Before making honey candy gummies, you'll have to infuse the honey with hemp flower. If you've ever completed this process by hand, you know how time-consuming it can be, not to mention the mess it can leave. Drying, activating, and infusing herb can be a real headache. You shouldn't have to settle for store-bought gummies with dubious ingredients just because you don't have the time to manually concoct your own infusions. Fortunately, there's a home infusion device that automatically completes every step of the infusion process at the touch of a button: the LĒVO.
LĒVO home infusion machines are designed to streamline the creation of delicious herbal infusions and recipes. While you muster the equipment and ingredients you'll need to make your honey candy gummies, your LĒVO machine will decarb and prepare your hemp-infused honey for you.
The LĒVO can infuse a wide variety of substances, including honey, and our product line includes three different models: LĒVO II, LĒVO C, and LĒVO Lux. The LĒVO II is our classic home infusion device and is perfect for personal use. The LĒVO Lux is our most ornate and refined model and is commonly used and displayed in culinary settings. Finally, if you are a business owner or prefer to make larger batches, the LĒVO C's higher capacity may be the right option.
Creating hemp infusions such as infused honey has never been easier with LĒVO.
Pre-made gummy edibles sold in stores often contain starch, artificial food coloring, corn syrup, and other less healthy ingredients. By making your own edible gummies, you can have more control over the ingredients that go into the final product. Our recipe uses honey as a sweetener instead of glucose syrup. While honey is still sugar, it's a natural alternative to higher-calorie glucose syrups and even contains small amounts of vitamins and antioxidants.
Ingredients
small saucepan , a dropper
silicone gummy molds
a whisk
For Infused Honey
1 Ounce of ground flower 16 Ounces of honey
For Honey Candies
2 Tbsp of infused honey 1 Cup of apple juice or another juice of your choosing (preferably with no added sugar) 2.5 Tbsp of unflavored gelatin powder
Before making your gummies, you need to make infused honey. To infuse honey with hemp flower using a LĒVO machine, place 8grams of herb in the LĒVO Power Pod, place it in the reservoir, and activate the herb. Once activation is complete, pour 16 ounces of honey into the reservoir, set the temperature to 105 degrees, and allow the mixture to infuse for about 3.5 hours. Once the infusion is complete, store it in an airtight container or Mason jar.
Measure out 2 Tbsp of the infused honey, 1 Cup of juice, and 2.5 Tbsp of gelatin. Pour these ingredients into a saucepan and turn the heat to medium-high. Stir constantly until the gelatin is fully dissolved in the mixture. Don't allow the mixture to boil; it just needs to get hot enough for the gelatin to melt.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and grab your silicone gummy molds. When you purchase silicone molds, they generally come equipped with a dropper, which allows you to be precise when filling them. Place the molds flat on a baking sheet so they can be transferred safely to the refrigerator without spilling. Use the dropper to transfer the mixture from the saucepan to the molds.
Put the pan with the molds in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours while the gelatin sets.
Remove the molds from the refrigerator after they have cooled completely, and you should be able to pop the gummies out of their molds. Store leftover gummies in the fridge, preferably in an airtight jar or container.
Recipe Note
Juice - You can use any fruit juice you prefer. We have used apple, mango, pomegranate, cranberry, and grape juices to make our honey candy gummies. Some types of juice (like grape juice) tend to have a lot of added sugar, so be aware that using those juices could result in sweeter gummies. We recommend using 100 percent juice and avoiding citrus juices, as they don't work especially well with this recipe.
Honey - When selecting honey for your infusion, we suggest using raw honey since it isn't processed and tends to have a more robust flavor. However, you can use any honey, including pasteurized honey.
Gelatin - It's best to use unflavored gelatin when making homemade gummy bears because flavored gelatin might conflict with the juice you're using. Some people also run into issues when the gelatin doesn't set correctly. If your gummies don't set, it might be because the mixture became too hot in the saucepan. Remember: you only need to get the mixture warm enough to blend the gelatin with the juice and honey. Once the gelatin appears to be fully dissolved in the mix, turn off the heat and remove the saucepan from the stove.
