More Infused Treat Recipes:
You don’t have to be an accomplished chef to make delicious and potent gumdrops. If you love infused edibles, but don’t really enjoy cooking, have no fear! This recipe for gumdrops is very simple and quick.
- 2 cups of sugar (or sugar substitute)
- ½ cup of water for gelatin mixture
- ¾ cup of water for the sugar syrup
- 3 packages of gelatin or 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder (unflavored or flavored)
Premade or homemade infused oil (2-3 teaspoons or adjusted to your liking)
- Optional: additional extracts, sugar, or another topping to coat gummies.
- A large saucepan
- A large stirring bowl
- A stirring spoon
Preparing the Gelatin Mixture:
- Add ½ cup of water and gelatin to a large stirring bowl.
- Stir the ingredients so the gelatin mixture is distributed evenly throughout the water.
- Let the mixture soak while you make the sugar syrup.
Preparing the Sugar Syrup:
Place ¾ cup of water and 2 cups of sugar in a large saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Then, let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove it from the heat.
- Carefully pour the hot sugar syrup into the mixing bowl containing the gelatin mixture.
- Stir well.
Now you are ready to add infused oil to the gumdrop liquid:
Add 2-3 teaspoons of botanical-infused oil.
- Stir the ingredients really well.
- Carefully pour the gumdrop liquid into the molds.
- Refrigerate the gumdrops for 4 hours.
If you’d like, you can substitute oils and ingredients in order to customize the gumdrop recipe. For example, coconut oil would pair well with citrus juice to create a refreshing tropical taste. Adding a lemon extract to amplify the flavor is another possibility. Peppermint, orange, cinnamon, and vanilla extract are all possible editions. Yum!
Another option is to coat your gumdrops with coarse, white sugar or some other decorative and tasty topping.

Some people even like to add a bit more sugar or a natural sweetener to their gumdrops. Especially, if they are using a really tart flavor like cherry.
