One of the three core ingredients in our firecracker edibles is dried ground hemp flower. Before making yourself a firecracker edible, you'll first need to decarb (activate) your choice of hemp. This process activates the potency of your herbs. Activating hemp flower manually can take time and the process is messy. In addition to being tedious, decarbing by hand can yield inconsistent results.

Ingredients

Conventional Firecrackers

• ¼ teaspoon activated hemp flower ground

• 1 teaspoon peanut butter

• 1 saltine cracker

Nutella Firecrackers

• ¼ teaspoon activated hemp flower ground

• 1 teaspoon of hazelnut butter like Nutella or Nutiva (dairy-free version of Nutella)

• 1 wafer or cookie

Directions

1. Activate your hemp flower using LEVO.

2. Once it has been decarbed, you can grind it as finely as you prefer.

3. Spread your peanut butter, Nutella, Nutiva, or other nut butter on a cracker or cookie.

4. Sprinkle the finely ground hemp flower on the snack and enjoy!

Substitutions

The Base - While many hemp enthusiasts prefer saltines for firecracker edibles due to their texture and subtle salty flavor, you can use any similar food item for a base. Vanilla wafers, shortbread cookies, water crackers, and even toast can be used as a base for a firecracker edible. If you can spread nut butter on it, it's fair game!

Other Nut Butters - If you're allergic to peanuts, you could use practically any nut butter for your spread, including cashew butter, almond butter, and sunflower butter. The beauty of firecracker edibles is their versatility! If you don't particularly like the taste of hemp, we recommend using Nutella, Nutiva, or another spread with a lot of flavor to help mask the taste of the ground flower. No matter which spread you choose, we recommend using a nut butter or similar substance, if possible, as the fat content increases the potency and absorption of your herbs.

Hemp Flower - While many hemp edible recipes utilize infusions and extractions, people also consume hemp in ground form. Once you have decarbed your hemp flower, we recommend using a coffee grinder to grind it as finely as possible before sprinkling it on top of your edibles.

Dosage - If you are new to making your own hemp edibles, you might wonder how much decarbed hemp you should sprinkle on each edible. About ¼ teaspoon is considered a good beginner's dose. It's better to start small and gradually increase your dose than to begin with a dose above your tolerance level. If you're a more experienced user, you could add more. Start low and start small.

Storage - Decarbing hemp flower extends its shelf life, so you can store it for several months after activation. Be sure to place it in an airtight container and stash it in a cool, dark area to maintain freshness.
