Can you use glycerine with no water? I’ve seen some herbalists using 3:1 of glycerine:water. This is my first infusion with glycerine – I want to make a blend for CNS support. thank you!

I’m ready to make my first glycerite using vegetable glycerin and rosemary. My question is if I have a 16 oz. bottle of glyerin, how much rosemary should I use? I know a regular tincture bottle is typically two ounces, but I’m unsure if I need to make up the whole bottle or just use a partial amount of it. I also know that the glycerin needs to be over top the level of the herbs, but I’m still not sure quantities of both. Please advise.
Sincerely,
Cathy Zeigler

Hi Cathy,
It’s great to hear you’re diving into making your first glycerite with vegetable glycerin and rosemary! For a bigger batch, you can double the recipe and use 12 oz of glycerin with 4 oz of rosemary. Happy infusing!
