Whether you're fighting off seasonal sniffles or simply craving a zesty, functional treat, these homemade ginger chews are a natural way to soothe sore throats, settle upset stomachs, and boost immunity, made even better with LĒVO-infused honey.
Why Ginger & Honey?
Ginger is nature’s powerhouse, known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea properties, it’s long been used to help ease digestion, fight colds, and support the immune system. Pair it with raw honey, also packed with antioxidants and antimicrobial properties and you’ve got a flu-season remedy in sweet disguise.
The Infusion Advantage
Infusing your honey with even more wellness-boosting herbs (like turmeric, echinacea, elderflower, or lemon balm) brings extra function to every chew. With LĒVO, you can effortlessly infuse your honey at the perfect time and temperature, no scorching, no mess.
Tip: We recommend using LĒVO II+ or Lux to dry your ginger and infuse your honey at 105°F for the optimal nutrient-preserving process.
These DIY chews combine the immunity-boosting power of ginger with the sweet, soothing benefits of infused honey. Made using your LĒVO machine and a quick stovetop reduction, they’re perfect for sore throats, digestive support, or just a naturally spicy-sweet treat.
Ingredients
For Infusion
1/4 oz coarsely chopped fresh ginger (or dry ginger if using LEVO C)
Load Herb Pod with coarsely chopped ginger. Run DRY cycle if using fresh ginger. Skip if using dried ginger.
Pour honey into the reservoir, ensuring ginger is fully submerged.
Set LĒVO to 105°F and infuse for 1–2 hours.
Once complete, dispense into a clean glass jar. Set aside ¼ cup for the chew recipe. Store the rest for tea, toast, or more chews later!
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine grated ginger and 2 cups of water. Bring to a gentle boil.
Simmer until reduced to 1 cup of liquid. Strain out the ginger.
Return the ginger water to the saucepan. Add sugar and ¼ cup infused honey.
Stir over medium heat until the mixture reaches 240°F (soft-ball stage), about 10–12 minutes. (Keep a close eye while stirring, honey can bubble quickly and burn if left unattended.)
Immediately pour into a parchment-lined bowl or dish. Let cool completely.
Once firm, cut into small pieces. Dust with starch to prevent sticking.
Roll into balls or leave as squares. Wrap individually in parchment if desired.
Store in an airtight jar at room temp for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer shelf life!
