Tell us a little about yourself and Elevated Baking!
I started infusion baking at The Ohio State University in the 90's. After moving, getting married and raising two fantastic children, I joined Pennsylvania's medical herb program in 2018 when I became disabled and began catering and teaching at the local dispensary.
How did infusions become a part of your business?
Infusion baking and cooking quickly became my entire business because there were and are currently no eatables available in my state and less people offering them.
How has LĒVO helped streamline or improve your infusion process?
I have two LĒVO II machines I use for medicinal herb infusions. The ease of use, lack of constant monitoring and simple cleaning are why I love using my LĒVO machines. They look fabulous on my countertop and I love showing interested friends how enjoyable the process is with a LĒVO.
You’re showcasing Elevated Baking at a Valentine’s event this weekend — what are you most excited to share?
This weekend's Valentine's Show in Morgantown Event Center 6180 Morgentown Road, PA Feb. 15-16 from 10-6pm is where I will be showcasing Cannoli Chip & Infused Dip, Mochachinno Cake Balls, Frosted Vanilla Cupcakes and my best selling Full Spectrum Infused Dog Treats for pain, anxiety and general wellbeing. We also have a variety of small medicinal herb crocheted items and stickers available.
What’s been the best part of preparing for this event?
I am extra excited to have been selected to create a huge gift basket for the CannaWorldFair Raffle prize as well as talking to everyone and seeing all of the customers' dog pictures as we discuss how full spectrum help treats can improve their pets' lives.
Do you have any upcoming events in March where people can find your products?
Preparing for this event has been made much easier with my LĒVO machines so that I can spend my energy and time on the decorating and packaging. I can depend on the consistency of LĒVO products and my math skills, so I can achieve the infusion percents that in need for portion sizes. The LĒVO Time and Temp infusion calculator is my favorite to use and I recommend it to everyone.
What’s your favorite infusion to make for your products?
My next confirmed event is Gilbert, PA in the Poconos July 26-27, 2025
What’s been the biggest challenge (or reward!) of running an infusion-based business?
My favorite most useful infusion is Avocado and Coconut Blend Oils 85/15 and I use this in lots of baked as well as non bake recipes. Cake balls are my signature piece that are available at every show.
Any advice for other bakers or small business owners looking to turn their passion for infusions into a business?
My advice for bakers interested in infusion baking as a business is to do all of the small shows you can to see what the local area is most interested in, and offer shipping and catering services to your local community.
