Infusiast Spotlight: Juliana Champagne of The Botanical Beautician

What happens when a seasoned spa stylist, a Southern herbalist, and a devoted mom all live in one powerhouse woman? You get Juliana Champagne, founder of The Botanical Beautician, and one of the most passionate DIYers in the LĒVO community.  After being diagnosed with autoimmune disorders in her 20s, Juliana turned her focus toward natural wellness, holistic beauty, and plant-powered living… starting with what went on her skin and what she gave to her daughter. Now, she’s infusing everything from herbal honeys to high-potency skincare with intention, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.  Her favorite tools? Herbs, healing traditions, and her LĒVO!

Tell us a little about yourself!
Hey ya’ll! My name is Juliana Champagne, I’m a 34 year old mother to my daughter, Early Dawn Champagne, which without her none of this would be possible! I am a licensed Cosmetologist on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with over 13 years of experience and specializing in hair and skin. I've spent the majority of my cosmetology career as an entertainment hair stylist and esthetician at high end Casinos/Spa’s. Starting my own business and production has always been my dream of mine over the years, all the knowledge from hair, skin, art, design and passion I present to you, The Botanical Beautician. The Champagne Campaign of wellness and self care organically and naturally for your Hair, Skincare, and Wellness needs established and founded in January 2023.

How did you get into infusion?
When I was 26 years old, I got diagnosed with SLE Lupus and a few other autoimmune diseases, from then on that is what sparked my journey into a holistic lifestyle, herbalism, and what is natural. That’s also what really got myself starting to question everything in terms of food I was eating and where it came from, what is in products I use on myself for skin and hair; also the products for my clients that would give them results without harmful ingredients and costly side effects. I have taken extensive training on products from the biggest names in hair and skin care which I learned a lot from. Also, I realized what I don’t want on my hair or skin when it comes to those fine lines on the list of ingredients. When the LĒVO came out, I was so excited because infusions typically can take weeks, months, or some a year or more to do… with this infusion machine you can do that in one day! You can control the potency of the botanicals and herbs which makes deeply nourishing hair and skin care the potency of the botanical/herb in a product. I can also use it for culinary uses which is so cool, especially the flower part! This machine has made everything possible and so easy to construct a healthy lifestyle in every aspect of my life from the products I make, to the things I make to use to clean, healthy snacks for my little girl, natural products safe for your child and yourself!

What do you love most about using your LĒVO infusion machine?
The LĒVO machine has changed my life, turned my passion into a business with endless ways of creating a healthy, holistic, organic lifestyle and self care for myself, my daughter, family, friends, and customers. I love that I get to coordinate, create, develop and choose what goes into my products instead of wondering about the long term effects of chemicals or toxic ingredients that might cause life threatening effects, or chemical dependency on the skin.

What’s your favorite infusion to make with LĒVO, and how do you use it?
Currently, my favorite is infusing honey with chamomile and lavender for my tea, a soothing botanical blend we use when we’re feeling under the weather. I like using my infused honey to mix with cane sugar to make an exfoliating soothing body scrub, too!

Do you have any tips, tricks, or advice for others using their LĒVO machine?
Save your money on expensive overpriced hair and skin care products, invest in yourself, be in full control of what you put on your body and also the things you eat. Our skin is the largest organ on our body. You can make an infusion in just a couple of hours, and you get to decide what goes into whatever you're using and make safe food and products for your kids. Make sure to use LĒVO's herb press, it is very important to bruise your herbs so that when your infusing you have the full potency of your creation and it is specifically designed for the herb pod and also handy when you need to release the reservoir to get any leftovers from your infusion! Don’t forget, that also when you release the reservoir to make sure to keep your creation still under it because the remainder will come out!

If you could describe your “infusion style” in three words, what would they be?
Holistic. Southern. Eclectic.

What inspires you to create recipes or infused products?
Early Dawn is what inspires me the most because she is the only person who could get my gears turning, that’s why my first product I ever made is Early Dawn’s Lip Balm. Living in South Mississippi also brings inspiration, so many elements of the south from our love for spices, southern charm, coastal agriculture, and history. I cannot wait to take Early Dawn to forage and wildcraft local plants and herbs this spring to make new products!

What’s one thing you’d like others to know about you or your journey?
If something inspires you and you feel passionate about it, start creating, and never give up. The hardest part of doing anything is to get started, that’s what my Paw Paw used to tell me and it is so true. My goal is to be able to get my Trichologist Certification, which is a hair loss and scalp practitioner. I want to be the first trichologist on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and open a wellness spa and salon that doesn’t just cater to your outside appearance but also on the inside organically, naturally, customized, personalized, experience for anyone.

Can you tell us about the recipe you developed for this feature?
I created a Rejuvenating, Clarifying, Reset Face Mask! My skin gets dry when it gets cold, something to reset my skin to balance for moisture and create cellular turnover to glow! I infused Lemon Balm and Witch Hazel into Pistachio Oil with Rhassoul Clay, Citric Acid, and Myrrh essential Oil!

Anything else you’d like to share with the LĒVO community?
First and foremost, Thank you LĒVO for supporting me and believing in me when no one else did. Everyone thought I was over the top but you saw my passion and understood my vision. The Botanical Beautician’s number one tool in creating botanically rich hair and skin care products, formulated with potent plant infusions, it absorbs deeply to nourish and support the skin barrier. I am honored to be a part of this, this company is honestly the BEST company, everything from the LĒVO, to their tools, y'all everything they create is made with love and accuracy.
