Tell us a little about yourself and your experience with hosting infused gatherings!
Hey I'm Johnny aka The Suga Kane. I'm from a small town on the Eastern Shore where the crab cake is king lol. My LĒVO journey started about 3 years ago when one of my co-workers let me in on a little secret that changed my infusion life instantly. Once I have my LĒVO there was no look in them back. The possibilities were endless and new doors kept opening including one leading to me hosting flower-friendly events. I get most of my inspiration from being able to creatively help someone achieve a better quality of living through proper dosage and good methods.
Resource Tip: New to hosting? Start with a few simple dishes and one infused carrier. Use the LĒVO Potency Calculator to dial in your dose per serving.
What are your top tips for planning a successful 420 gathering?
My top tips for a 420 gathering would be to make sure that everyone's taking some time in between doses and not just throwing them back like shots. I'd also say to make sure to have some CBD or peppercorn on hand in case anybody was to get overwhelmed with the intoxicating effects. And of course be mindful of the which you have available and your attendees tolerance levels.
How do you curate your infused menu?
I curate my menu somewhat based on desired effects because that's what most people are after now is getting noticeable results. But I personally like to make sure I have several different dishes/ items so that people can see how versatile infusing can be and to spark their creativity for their own infusions. My go to Carrier would have to be mct oil; it's just so versatile.
Idea Starter: Try offering a “low-dose flight” of small bites to showcase different infusion styles across the menu!
What’s your approach to dosing when serving infused food and drinks?
I keep my initial serving sizes low and uniform across the board while offering sauces (THC &CBD) at different strengths if someone wants to kick up their dish a little bit.
Dosing Resource: Check out LĒVO's Time & Temp Guidelines to fine-tune your infusions based on strain type and desired effect.
How has LĒVO helped you elevate your infusions for gatherings?
LĒVO has given me alot more confidence with my gatherings. No, I can trust that my measurements are accurate and that everything was done in a controlled environment which leads to me feeling better about my finished products. As far as a feature that makes it a must have. I'd have to say the dispense button. Being able to make an infusion and easily send some home with each of your guests by simply pressing a button is unbelievably awesome.
Beyond the food, what are some fun activities or entertainment ideas for a 420 party?
For 420 events or social activities are a must. I personally like to do 420 trivia. Nothing too crazy, maybe some yes or no flower trivia and of course some reggae music. 420 bingo is also another low stress high fun activity.
What are some non-negotiables you always include to balance the experience?
I always make sure to have a CBD iced tea and chocolates for those just seeking to hear information and relax a little without intoxicating effects.
Hosting Tip: Consider offering infused and non-infused drink stations (mocktails, teas, and CBD tonics) to keep things fresh and friendly for every type of guest.
If you could describe your hosting style in three words, what would they be?
Empowering, Relatable, Chill
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone hosting their first infused gathering?
1st be confident! 2nd A small menu! Quality over quantity and just let it flow.💪🏾
Tell us about the infused recipe you’re sharing for this feature!
I decided to go with Blazed Blueberry muffins. My inspiration for this started with my granny's muffins she used to make us as kids. What better way to enjoy them as an adult than to infuse them with more love.
Where can people find more of your hosting and infusion tips?
You can find me on Instagram or facebook @thesugakane or in person 420 at the Micvido’s The Outlet Event Center in Salisbury MD
