How to Make a Crown Rack of Lamb

How to make Crown Rack of Lamb with flower infused oil

Crown rack of lamb sounds like an expert-level dish to make, but you will feel like queen or king of the infused kitchen once you see how easy this recipe can be!

If you have ever seen this dish, you might have wondered why the lamb is presented in such a particular way. The slender end of the bones are pointed upward, and the racks are arranged to form a circle or crown.

This article will cover making this recipe and some of the benefits of usingLĒVO machines andinfused olive oil in dishes like this.

Benefits of an Infused Recipe

This infused meal has many ingredients with powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients. Here is a brief overview of each item’s key benefits:

  • Garlic —improves brain health, gut health and supports the immune system

  • Olive oil — possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties

  • Pepper — anti-inflammatory properties

  • Thyme — antibacterial and antifungal properties

  • Rosemary — antiviral properties

  • Coriander — microbial properties

  • Terpenes — microbial, anti-pain, and anti-nausea properties

Botanicals and terpenes play an important role in interacting with the compounds from other ingredients. They enhance the taste and smell and intensify some of the flavor notes.

Decarboxylating Flower and Infusing Butter

Activating the raw flower and infusing butter must take place before you start the rack of lamb recipe. You can prepare the infused oil on the same day you plan to make this recipe, but you’ll need to plan on additional time for the decarbing and infusion processes.

Of course, all of these important processes are made far easier and much more efficient with the LĒVO machines - we’ve even developed our own time and temperature calculator for you to reference when using your machine.

You can infuse the oil a day or two before. A LĒVO II or LĒVO C home infuser allows you to select the most efficient settings for activating and infusing the specific flower strains to optimize the potency and potential therapeutic effects of the terpenes.

First, you will prepare the flower for decarboxylation. During the ‘decarbing’ process, raw flower is heated, which activates the botanical compounds responsible for that elevated feeling.

  1. Begin by breaking down large buds of dry flower into smaller pieces by hand or with a knife. You can also use shake and trim.
  2. Place your desired amount of flower in the LĒVO machine’s Power Pod(s) or the LĒVO C Jumbo Pod. Select the Activate button and allow the flower to decarb at the standard setting. LĒVO C will need one cycle for a half fill pod (half ounce) and two Activate cycles for a full pod.

After the decarbing step is complete, add enough oil to the reservoir to cover the flower, select your time and temp, and start the infusion process. We suggest infusing flower with LĒVO at 160-170°F for 3-6 hours.
