Nate’s journey into the world of BBQ is filled with mouthwatering recipes, and his love for cooking is deeply inspired by his role as a father. In this spotlight, we’ll explore how Nate integrates his family values into his culinary creations and how LĒVO helps elevate his BBQ game.

Can you share a bit about your background and how you developed your love for BBQ?

I am a father of three amazing children and the husband to my beautiful wife.  Family is and always will be the most important thing in my life. In my professional life, I am a Director of Operations for a Whole Animal Butcher Shop which serves Beef & Pork that has been raised locally.

My life for BBQ and grilling started at an early age. I can always remember my dad around the grill cooking up chicken, steak, veggies and everything in between. I lost my dad to cancer at the age of 16 and I think one of the biggest reasons I enjoy it so much is because it makes me feel close to my dad.

How has being a father influenced your approach to cooking and recipe creation?

Having three kids with three different palates can always prove difficult when it comes to making dinner. Trying to make something that they all like can be challenging, but we love doing homemade pizza night, burger & fry night and taco night around the house.

As a father, I also take extra precautions to ensure all infused dishes are clearly labeled and kept out of reach of my children. Responsible infusion practices are key to creating a safe environment for everyone. For my flower infusions, I keep them in a secure container, like the Infusion Vault.

What’s your favorite part about BBQing, and how do you involve your family in the process?

My favorite part is definitely the end process where everyone sits down to enjoy the meal. I can usually tell by the silence of the crowd if they approve or not. My two daughters cannot get enough of helping me BBQ. My youngest has her own little dinosaur apron that she has to bust out every time we fire up the grill.

How did you first come across LĒVO, and what made you decide to incorporate it into your BBQ recipes? 

I follow a few accounts that use LĒVO that are along the same lines as what I do.  Seeing all of the different types of creations that can be made from the machine caught my attention.

Flower has always been an important part of my life when it comes to mental health and it was a no-brainer to start using it in my recipes.

In what ways has using LĒVO changed or enhanced your BBQ recipes?

LĒVO has introduced a whole new side of BBQ and cooking in general. I am able to incorporate flower infusions into my dishes without the hassle and mess of doing things the old way. LĒVO is also great for non-flower infusions. Hot honey and garlic & herb olive oil are just a few non-flower favorites!

Can you share a memorable experience or project where LĒVO played a pivotal role in your BBQ creations?

I recently made double infused chicken wings with an infused buffalo sauce that were absolutely incredible. The recipe used butter & avocado oil that was infused with flower - making sure to always label and store my flower-infused dishes responsibly.
