Gummies are where it’s at. They can be chewy and gooey, firm and long-lasting, or even crunchy (hello Nerds Rope gummies!), but they’re always delicious. And if you’re into that kind of thing, they make the perfect edibles.
Odds are that if you’re reading this, you’ve given homemade gummies a try, and it went kinda… eh, terribly. The gummy-making process is traditionally very difficult. With little room for error, most of us end up sticky and discouraged, with only globs of gelatin and sugar left to show for our efforts.
Luckily, there is a better way. We at LĒVO are gummy experts and know how to simplify the gummy-making process for fool-proof kitchen adventures. Keep reading for 10 tips n’ tricks for making homemade gummies the easy way.
1. Use LĒVO To Infuse Your Oil
In order to make infused gummies, you need to first make flower-infused oil. You know we’re not talking about dandelions, right? The process of infusing *flower* into oil can be very complicated, with many opportunities for mistakes.
LĒVO is the innovative kitchen device that makes at-home herbal infusion as easy as making a cup of joe. By activating the flower for you, LĒVO ensures it won't burn. And to infuse it, all you need to do is push a button. Instead of sweating over a double boiler, you can walk away from your LĒVO and even leave the house as it performs its infusing magic. Learn more about LĒVO.
2. Use MCT Oil or Coconut Oil
Unsure of what oil to use for your gummies? Opt for MCT oil or coconut oil. Why?
MCT oil is tasteless and remains liquid at room temperature, giving your gummies a more jiggly consistency. It’s full of health benefits, such as boosting the immune system, promoting healthy gut bacteria, and maintaining healthy hormone levels and weight.
Coconut oil is pleasant-tasting and remains solid at room temperature, making your gummies more firm. It has strong natural antimicrobial and antifungal properties, which extends the shelf life of your gummies. Learn more about the healthiest oils to use in all kinds of infusions.
3. Use a Gummy Mix (Say What?)
While, yes, you could try to make gummies from scratch, why bother? Just as there are brownie mixes for easy brownie edibles, there are gummy mixes for easy gummy edibles! We recommend our Gummy Mix Trio, which comes with Cherry, Peach, and Raspberry Flavors. All you have to do is add water and infused oil. You’ll have a fool-proof way to make homemade gummies without burning the house down.
4. Combine Flavored Gummy Mixes
You don’t need to be limited to just one flavor. Our hot tip? Combine flavored gummy mixes to make new flavors like Peach-Raspberry and more. Check out our video below to watch the flavor experiments in action.
5. Swap Water With Juice
Psst, for extra flavorful homemade gummies and to mask the grassy taste, swap water with juice in the recipe! Sounds like it wouldn’t work? It does. Check out our video to see how.
6. Use LĒVO Gummy Molds
Molds are a must-use for homemade gummies, but which ones should you choose? Our Gummy Molds come with a sturdy snap-on lid for mess-free gummy storage, and extended shelf life. They're made using FDA approved food-grade silicone and are sized out for easy dosing. For removal, just pop ‘em out.
7. Melt Regular Gummy Bears
Feeling extra lazy? Purchase a bag of regular gummy bears from the store and melt them in a pot. Then mix in your infused oil. You'll have a ready-to-mold gummy mixture in minutes! Crazy, right? This method is also used to make infused Nerds Rope. Learn how by watching our video below.
8. The Double Pod Hack
Want extra potent gummies? (Hey, sometimes it’s necessary!) Infuse twice as much flower into your oil by using two LĒVO Herb Pods instead of one. Your gummies will be twice as potent. To see it in action, check out our video below.
9. De-Stick With Corn Starch or Sugar
When your gummies are all set and ready to go, we recommend popping them out of their Gummy Molds and immediately coating them in cornstarch or sugar. Why? It keeps them from sticking, and can add an extra layer of yum. Psst, use sour sugar to make sour gummies!
10. Be Mindful When Stirring
As you’re stirring away while making your homemade gummies, pay attention to how your gummy mixture reacts. If you notice that the oil is beginning to separate from the gummies, you’re not stirring enough! Roll up your sleeves and get back to it. But if you notice that your gummies are starting to foam, you might have gotten a bit carried away with the stirring. Thankfully, you can skim off the foam while cooking without messing up this batch. Then next time, you’ll remember to stir a bit less.

Just made my first batch of oil with the Lux & then my first package of gummies with the raspberry sorbet…I used your gummy stirrer machine and it could not have been easier. They came out of the mold perfect consistency. I have dusted them in a sugar I whizzed around in my magic bullet with a bit of citric acid and so excited to try my first one later!!
I cannot believe the difference in price to purchasing edibles at the shop and how easy they were to make. I’m now going to whip up a batch of the gummy worms as your trays are AMAZING!!!

We recommend using MCT Oil. It has no flavor or smell and won’t take away from the flavor of the gummy mix.

I just watched the video on how to make gummies with the levo gummy mix after I messed mine up. The oil separated. Is there a way I can melt and try to make them again?

LEVO Oil Infusion, Inc. replied:
Yes! Just remember to keep the heat low. Too high and they can turn into sleepy time gummies. The liquid may evaporate as you heat, but it’s the perfect opportunity to add more infused oil and water.
And remember: STIR, STIR, STIR so that your oil doesn’t separate.

How long will the gummies last if stored in the freezer?

LEVO Oil Infusion, Inc. replied:
We don’t have an exact number of weeks or months, but it would be a very, very long time. Maybe years.

How long do the gummies last after infusing them with the oil?

LEVO Oil Infusion, Inc. replied:
Hi
Thanks for reaching out to LĒVO support! 🌿.
Infused gummies will last less than 1 week if not stored in the fridge or freezer. I recommend they should be stored in the fridge in an airtight container and should be enjoyed within 2 weeks.
Thank you for being a LĒVO customer. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything else I can do for you! 😁
