Batch strength
Enter your herb amount, the potency on its label and how much oil or butter you're using. You'll get an estimated range per teaspoon, tablespoon and mL.
Use the % printed on your herb's label.
Herb amount × labeled potency gives the starting milligrams. We keep 90% of that after Activate, then assume 65–85% moves into your oil or butter during Infuse. That total is spread across your oil (1 cup = 236.6 mL, 1 tsp = 4.93 mL, 1 tbsp = 14.79 mL).
This is an estimate, not a lab result. Your herb, grind and settings all change the real number, so test your batch if you need an exact figure.
Stronger batch: put more herb in each cup of oil, grind it first, and keep the stirrer in during Infuse. You can also infuse your finished oil again with fresh herb.

Activate settings
Every LĒVO Activates at 240°F (116°C): 30 minutes on LĒVO II+ and LĒVO Lux, and 45 minutes on LĒVO C (preset).
Activate (decarboxylation) gently heats your herb of choice before you infuse it. Use it for flower. Fresh garden herbs use the Dry cycle instead.

FAQ
Quick answers on time, temperature, Activate and batch size.
Use 240°F (116°C) for 30 minutes on LĒVO II+ and Lux. LĒVO C runs a preset Activate cycle at 240°F for 45 minutes. Warm-up comes first and isn't counted in that time. See Activate settings by machine.
If you're infusing flower, yes. Run Activate first, then add your oil or butter and run Infuse. Fresh garden herbs don't use Activate; dry them with the Dry cycle instead.
A Power Pod holds about ¼ oz (7 g) of dry herb, and LĒVO II+ and Lux hold up to 2 cups of oil or butter. The LĒVO C Jumbo Pod holds 1 oz (28 g) for up to 6 cups. The same herb in less oil makes a stronger infusion; more oil makes it milder.
It depends on how much herb you use, the potency on its label and how much oil or butter you infuse it into. The same herb in less oil makes a stronger infusion. To know the exact number, test a few drops of your batch with a tCheck. Results take about 2 minutes.
Use more herb per cup of oil or butter. The Potency Pod for LĒVO II+ and Lux holds up to 1 oz, four times a Power Pod, and the LĒVO C Potency Pod holds up to 2 oz. You can also run two Power Pods. Grinding your herb first helps it infuse, and you can infuse your finished oil again with fresh herb.
Infuse butter at 170°F (77°C). The time depends on your herb: soft herbs, petals and vanilla take about 1 hour. Pick your herb above for the exact time.
Infuse both MCT oil and coconut oil at 170°F (77°C). Pick your herb above for the time.
Infuse olive oil at 165°F (74°C). Rosemary or basil in olive oil takes about 1 hour.
Infuse honey at 105°F (41°C). Honey is low in fat, so add 1 teaspoon of lecithin per 2 cups of honey to help your herb of choice bind to it.
It depends on the herb. Soft herbs, petals and vanilla take about 1 hour, roots take 1–2 hours, and some herbs take up to 5 hours. Pick your herb and carrier above for the exact time.
Use lecithin when your base is low in fat, such as honey, maple syrup, agave or plant milk. Add 1 teaspoon per 2 cups of base before you infuse.
No. LĒVO doesn't recommend infusing solvents like grain alcohol or ethanol, because they can cause fire, electric shock or injury. For an alcohol-free tincture, infuse vegetable glycerin at 185°F (85°C).
