Safe Consumption Starts with LEVO

For the past several months, the news has been ripe with vape-related illnesses. Even with the recent ban on almost all flavored vaping products, most consumers are left to wonder–what now? Inhalation is common among those who prefer to smoke or vape, but it is far from being the safest option to consume.

According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), what we do know is that there has been a recent outbreak of symptoms such as: cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain.

Recent CBC laboratory testing of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid samples (or samples of fluid collected from the lungs) from 29 patients with EVALI submitted to CDC from 10 states found vitamin E acetate in all of the BAL fluid samples. Vitamin E acetate is used as an additive in the production of e-cigarette, or vaping, products.

While the CDC continues to provide updates on the outbreak, they highly recommend people should not do the following:

Buy any type of e-cigarette or vaping products from informal sources, such as friends, family, or in-person or online dealers.

Modify or add any substances to e-cigarette, or vaping, products that are not intended by the manufacturer, including products purchased through retail establishments.

Given the specific compound or ingredient causing injury to the lungs is not yet known, alternative ways of consumption such as ingestion or topicals should be considered–enter LEVO.

We honor all types of herbs and botanicals by exploring the many ways in which they can be consumed here at LEVO HQ. We know that safe consumption begins with pure plant extract, which is why we love infusing our herbs (requiring no nasty solvents, emulsifiers or additives). We proclaim that the fun begins when you start low and go slow. Yes, that means even your favorite recipe passed on by your grandmother can become #LEVOmade.

If you’re ready to cook with flower, our LEVO II is up for the challenge. Edibles are a great alternative to vaping, as the LEVO can assist in moving beyond the typical desserts, allowing you to infuse nearly anything at the touch of a button! Our friends at Nice Paper, provide a quick breakdown of how our bodies process edibles. As suggested, microdosing (low and slow) is the way to control your dose and be mindful of your consumption. Try these easy snack recipes here and here to step up your game!

Additionally, LEVO takes consumption beyond edibles with its ability to create topicals at home. Topicals are another alternative to consumption that can target localized areas of the body. Infused lotions or balms can assist the epidermis–aka your first layer of skin—with pain management, hydration/moisturization, and boost healing. With inflammation being the main cause of joint or muscle pain, topicals can provide relief to a specific area. Our DIY suppositories recipe can provide therapeutic relief by bypassing the liver and targeting lower pelvic regional pains, such as menstrual cramps or even assist with intimate moments. For everyday topical relief, try the #LEVOmade fan favorite, hydrating lip balm recipe and our hemp-infused massage candle

Avoid inhalation and expand your options with LEVO. We can’t wait to see what you’ll make!
